A German National of Greek Descent

Joseph Pilates was born in Düsseldorf, Germany in the year 1880 and was a German national but of Greek descent and was an avid exercise enthusiast who was fond of skiing, gymnastics, diving, and a martial arts student who developed his body into excellent condition and was, in his teens, fitness charts model.

During the 1918 influenza pandemic, he was busy investigating ways to rehabilitate bed-ridden victims and so he was able to create a series of movements which anyone could practice in closed confines and he later began to train professional boxers among who was Max Schmeling, the noted heavyweight champion.

Rather than perform many repetitions of each exercise, Pilates liked lesser and more exact movements that required control as well as form and, in this endeavor, he designed at least 500 specific exercises and the most frequent of these was the mat work that involved a series of callisthenic motions that did not require any weights or apparatus and could be performed on a padded mat.

Pilates was a firm believer that mental health as well as physical health were vital for each other and he created a method of total body conditioning that laid emphasis on correct alignment, centering, concentration, control, precision as well as breathing and flowing movements and called them The Pilates Principles that resulted in greater flexibility, strength, toning of the muscle, awareness of the body, more energy as well as better mental concentration. In addition, Pilates was also able to design five key pieces of unique exercise equipment which would, according to him, give better results.

Pilates: The Creation of a Physical Fitness System

Pilates is system of physical fitness that had been developed in the early twentieth century by a person named Joseph Pilates who had written a minimum of two books about his Pilates Method and these include Return to Life through Contrology as well as Your Health: A Corrective System of Exercising That Revolutionizes the Entire Field of Physical Education.

His method Contrology referred to the manner in which using the mind to control the muscles was encouraged and the exercise program focused on the core postural muscles which are able to keep the balance of the body and are vital for providing support for the spine. Pilates exercises, in particular, are able to teach the student awareness of breath as well as aligning the spine and strengthening of the deep torso muscles that are important if one wants to alleviate as well as prevent back pain.

There are many reasons that makes the aero Pilates machine special: (i) it has padded jump-board which is easy on the joints when doing the exercises, (ii) the machine is designed to stay some 10 inches off the floor which helps in the performances of advanced Pilate exercises, (iii) it gives a complete and highly efficient cardio-vascular workout, (iv) it comes with four levels of elastic chords for four different levels of workout, and last but definitely not he least, (v) it promotes 50 Pilates exercises which can tone, strengthen and shape each and every muscle in the body.

Understanding Properly About Aero Pilates

Maybe you are aware and may be you are not – for which I will mention it here, i.e. that Pilates mainly differs from yoga in the fact that the former requires a definite type of equipment (not the regular gym stuff), while yoga does not need any. Initially the Pilates equipment was made only of springs and high tension elastic chords.
Today, the industry copied the actual model to create many gym-type machines which can be used by the people in the Western world with ease. Among these, one of the best and perhaps the most versatile is the aero Pilates treadmill. This is, as the name indicates, a type of treadmill, but not quite the same as you would see in your gym. This apparatus will enable you to carry out some 50 plus Pilates exercises effortlessly. This is why it is truly great and why it is so much in demand.
